30"x40" three poster series

This poster series is a typographic portrait of the Colombian writer Gabriel
Garcia Marquez. I pulled quotes from his literature that defined the human condition as he saw it.  He believed that Latin America lived in a constant state
of isolation from the rest of the world, resulting in what he called the "Solitude of Latin America."

I drew inspiration from his themes and style of writing to give the series a somewhat mysterious feel, and tap into the magical realism style that he wrote in, while still encompassing the overall theme of Solitude.

All the imagery used in this poster
series was made by hand and then
altered digitally:

Green poster: Ink on water, and
crumbled paper.

Brown poster: Shattered light bulb laying on top of ink brush strokes.

Purple poster: Paper lit on fire
